New fieldbus interfaces for pyrometers

Fluke Process Instruments now also offer their spot pyrometers Thermalert 4.0 with connectivity options for Ethernet, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET IO. Analog or RS485 interfaces are still optionally available. The sensors with Ethernet interface can be supplied with voltage via Power over Ethernet (PoE).

The compact and extremely robust Thermalert 4.0 series infrared thermometers provide non-contact, automated temperature monitoring. The comprehensive product line covers measuring temperatures between -40 °C and 2300 °C and offers various different spectral models and focus distances. Among others specialized spectral models to monitor surface temperatures of glass during bending, hardening, annealing and sealing (5 µm, 250 °C up to 2250 °C) and extremely thin drawn glass (7,9 µm, 300 °C up to 900 °C) are available. The whole series is characterized by a high maximum operating temperature of 85°C. Users can therefore save costs by setting up many measuring points without cooling. The robust infrared thermometers are executed in the production level IP65. They reach excellent values in repetitive accuracy, response time and accuracy. An integrated laser focus facilitates alignment. In addition, the manufacturer also offers a pyrometer without laser for particularly cost-sensitive applications. This model with an 8 µm to 14 µm spectral response has all the other advantages of the series and is suitable for a wide range of measurement tasks between -40 °C and 1000 °C.
