Product overview
The DB-Inspector is a thermography-based inspection system developed for inline quality control of automotive dashboards. By combining the high-speed IRS-XTM infrared camera with Selmatec’s analysis software, the system enables non-destructive inspection directly on the production line.
Using a hybrid approach of passive and active thermography, the DB-Inspector detects both surface irregularities and hidden internal defects. While passive monitoring reveals deformities and thickness variations, active thermography applies a short heat pulse to analyze the material’s thermal response. This allows the system to identify hidden anomalies such as air pockets, delamination, weak adhesive bonding, or subsurface defects, ensuring reliable and consistent dashboard quality during production.
