Calibrating your devices with Selmatec: All you need to know

“I invested in a high quality device. Why is it not measuring correctly?”
A common misconception is that a high-end device will remain accurate indefinitely. Although they are reliable and stable, these devices still need to be calibrated periodically due to external conditions that might cause drifts in the readings. Over time, instruments working in conditions that differ from a controlled laboratory environment will present skewed results because the ions in the detector physically migrate and diffuse. This changes the electrical property of the dectector, making calibration essential to reference back to a known temperature and account for drift offset in the pyrometer.
“How often do they need to be calibrated?” We can help you find out.
Thanks to our qualified team of expert technicians and engineers we provide the support you need to avoid frustrating skewed results. We can calibrate your instruments and determine how often this process needs to be done according to specific circumstances.
With support from our partner Fluke Process Instruments, we have access to a DAkkS accredited laboratory in Berlin where we calibrate instruments in a range between room temperature and 1200°C.
The calibration can also be done on site with ISO certificates according to specifications by manufacturers.
