Here’s how you can improve industry compliance and Safety Standards

As safety and environmental regulations drive changes in the automotive industry's part specifications, the role of hot stamping becomes increasingly pivotal. As one of the core processes to create high-strength, lightweight components with structural integrity, hot stamping is an integral stage in modern manufacturing processes.

Creating intricate and detailed designs on various surfaces improves corrosion resistance and durability, but it poses challenges due to the complexities of high-strength steel deformation as die may operate under different temperature from heated blank and cooling channels.

At Selmatec, we aim to simplify data analysis to optimize the potential of hot stamping. Our curated lineup of renowned devices (CQI-9 4th conforming), paired with our tailored software, become an integrated solution to achieve seamless operations of hot stamping lines from start to finish.

High level control requires high level data management

Our system, the highly specialized PH Inspector software, supports you with real-time temperature measurements and data acquisition. As a scalable system, it has multiple applications. One of these is as a poka yoke blank identification system, which can be achieved when pairing the software with the CIR-Camera.

The SelVision CIR camera system, with its advanced 4MP high resolution and short wavelength, has the visual capability to enable accurate detection of different blanks, regardless of position. This data is immediately processed in the PH-Inspector software and communicated across the entire plant.

The benefits of identifying blanks from start to finish are numerous. Since the blanks go through several processes and various monitoring points before reaching their final destination, accurate profiling helps you catalogue information for each blank, leading to highly curated reports. Each blank will have associated data regarding temperature, position, alerts and more, allowing you easier evaluation to make the best decisions for your business.

Combine and integrate for elevated outcomes

As mentioned, the PH-System is fully scalable: to make a complete coverage of the entire plant, we invite you to combine it with more of our CQI-9 compliant systems to help you monitor various hot stamping stages. For example, our line scanner features a measuring range of 20-850°C, a line frequency of 300Hz and a spectral sensitivity of 3-5µm, allowing you to perform extremely accurate measurements on coated as well as uncoated components, making it an ideal choice for inline temperature monitoring of pressed parts.

Our recommendation: Consider positioning the CIR-Camera to monitor blanks atop the lower die. Additionally, mount the MP300 Line Scanner strategically at key access points for pressed parts. This ensures every critical aspect of the hot stamping process remains under control, allowing for precise monitoring and regulation.

Trusting in our integral solution inherently puts safety and regulatory adherence at the forefront of your manufacturing process. We invite you to try our robust poka yoke system! Our experts are ready to answer your questions.
