Continuous Casting: Optimizing the most important part of the steel industry

Continuous casting is the process in which molten steel flows into a water-cooled mould to create slabs, billets or blooms. The challenge is to control solidification as much as possible to minimize events (e.g entrapped bubbles) that may cause surface defects or a weak body.
This is easily done with a real-time temperature monitoring solution
By using infrared ratio thermometers you will be able to control the solidification of your product in an efficient way, allowing you to adjust the water nozzles and water flow when necessary to achieve proper cooling.
Additionally, we recommend using a Line Scanner system with our Application specific Software for extra accuracy, as it allows you to create a 2D thermal image of the entire metal product.
