The Fluke Process Instruments CS400 software incl. MP150 line scanner is the ideal system for monitoring rotary kilns. Thanks to the technical design of the sensors and intelligent software functions, it is possible to monitor the entire furnace shell under adverse weather conditions. Uniquely, the MP150 line scanner is fully integrated with linearized temperature pre-processing, which eliminates the need for extensive field calibration and makes it a plug and play replacement part even in the most unlikely of failures.

The kiln shell has protruding rings that cause shadow areas where the line scanner can’t reach. These areas might be small, but losing view in such areas can be the source of critical failure.

Our recommendation to avoid this issue is the MI3 Pyrometer, a compact device designed to efficiently target a single spot. Support your line scanner by placing one or more pyrometer(s) per blind spot. With this strategy the CS400 System is able to complete the thermal image and fully secure your rotary kiln.
