Traceability starts with visibility. Here’s how Selmatec delivers with the LED StripE
Behind every fast production line is a constant struggle engineers know well: keeping visual traceability reliable. When everything moves fast, things get blurry and you might end up with a good part that’s mistakenly rejected and/or faulty parts sneaking through undetected.
That’s where the need hits: a clear, reliable, immediate way to mark product status right on the belt.
Experience Efficient traceability with the Selmatec’s LED StripE
Selmatec heard that call and answered with the LED StripE. This isn’t just a regular LED strip lighting up a belt. It is our patented, efficient industrial-grade solution carefully built to follow each product, marking good ones, flagging bad ones. A simple concept, but powerful in execution.
You install LED StripE alongside your existing conveyor, connect it to your quality-control (QC) or sorting system, and it becomes the essential visual aid to secure your production. Built to scale, you can stretch it up to 30 meters, in 2-meter segments if you like a modular setup.
Here’s how it works:
- A built-in controller drives the whole setup; it works with your QC system.
- An incremental encoder tracks the speed of the conveyor belt. With that info, the LED colors are “clocked” exactly to product movement, without lag or mismatch.
- When a product passes inspection (via a camera or sensor), the LED stripe lights up green above it; if it fails QC, it lights red. Pulsating light mode is available in case of color-blindness.
- It lets you define the width of the “lit zone” per product (individual or stacked).
The Selmatec LED StripE delivers concrete returns in ways that teams notice immediately. Sorting gets faster because QC staff don’t need to manually correct issues. Accuracy and traceability improve as well. Since each item’s status becomes visible in real time, if something goes wrong further down the line, it becomes much easier to track the issue back to its source without digging through logs or relying on memory.
Furthermore, you don’t need a full PC-based system hovering nearby. LED StripE works independently on embedded hardware, though it integrates nicely if you want to link with QA systems, PLCs, and other Selmatec solutions when you want full line connectivity.
